James Gilbert on Historical Fiction

The intersection of history and fiction is front and center as we meet Dr. James Gilbert, author of three novels and a book of short stories. In 2017 he won second place in the F. Scott Fitzgerald Short Story contest.  Formerly, he was an American Historian and author of eleven books, one of which was a New York Times notable book.  He is currently at work on a mystery series set in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, and also a novel set in Chicago in 1894.
